1. What is a Squisharoo?
A Squisharoo is a handmade sensory fidget toy designed to give calming tactile relief for anxious hands and busy minds, for people who suffer with symptoms associated with Body-Focused-Repetitive Behaviours (BFRB’s), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Anxiety, Dementia and other neurological disorders.
Each Squisharoo is made from skin-safe, soft silicone and filled with textured beads, charms, or tiny treasures that feel satisfying to squish, squeeze, roll and manipulate.
People use Squisharoos to:
· soothe sensory seeking and anxious fidgeting
· redirect picking or nail-biting habits
· stay focused during work or class
· enjoy a quiet, portable sensory outlet
Squisharoos are:
· handmade in South Africa
· skin-safe
· quiet and discreet
· loved by both kids and adults
We make them in different themes, bead types, textures and story-based collections to make sensory play feel magical, calming and fun.
2. What are all the different types of Squisharoos you get?
From our online Squisharoo store, you can buy Signature Squisharoos, Re-usable Jelly Bead Squisharoos or Re-melt-aroo Squisharoos (launching soon). Each Squisharoo consists of different materials and serve different purposes.
The Signature Squisharoos are made from Ecoflex Silicone, glass beads and some plastic charms. The beads and charms are meant to be picked out and this is meant to serve as a soothing mechanism for anyone who struggles with Body-Focused-Repetitive-Behaviours. The empty Ecoflex Silicone and the beads of the Signature Squisharoos can be returned for recycling.
The Re-usable Jelly Bead Squisharoos are also made from Ecoflex Silicone but are filled with Water/Jelly beads. The jelly beads can be popped out and can be inserted back into the Squisharoos to play again! The easiest way to do this is to use a bowl full of jelly beads, and to push the empty Squisharoo downwards into the Jelly Beads until all the openings are full. Re-usable Jelly Bead Squisharoos are meant to enhance mindful play and fine motor skills, and they are super satisfying to pop! These empty silicone shells can also be returned to Squisharoo for recycling.
3. Why are your picky pads called “Squisharoos”?
The name “Squisharoo” mainly comes from my husband calling me “Squishy”. From this, I founded “Squisharoo” and I call the picky pads “Squisharoo” because the silicone I use is A-grade, super soft and squishy! The silicone itself, even without the beads, become a fun fidget as well, even though it ain’t always pretty!
4. How long does delivery take and how much does it cost?
